KSA, 20 May, 2024 : Saudi Arabia's holdings of US Treasuries climbed to $135.9 billion in March 2024, marking a 3.6% increase from the previous month's $131.1 billion, as reported by the US Treasury.
Maintaining its position as the 17th largest foreign holder of US Treasury securities, the kingdom saw its holdings rise by $4.8 billion month-on-month.
Japan leads with the largest foreign holdings of US Treasuries in March, totaling $1.18 trillion, followed by China with $767.4 billion and the UK with $728.1 billion.
Saudi Arabia's March holdings represent the highest recorded in a 12-month period. The kingdom's holdings consist of $107.3 billion in long-term bonds, comprising 79% of the total, and $28.6 billion in short-term bonds, making up the remaining 21%.
