Saudi Arabia and Japan Forge Multi-Sectoral Alliances in Tokyo Forum

KSA, 22 May, 2024 :  Saudi Arabia and Japan have sealed over 30 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) covering energy, manufacturing, and financial sectors. The agreements were formalized during the Saudi Arabia-Japan Vision 2030 Business Forum held in Tokyo.

Key figures including Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman and Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih addressed the forum. Al-Falih highlighted Saudi Arabia's doubled non-oil income and the country's pursuit of over $3 trillion in cumulative investments, presenting significant opportunities for Japanese stakeholders.

Deputy Minister of Investment for International Partnerships, Sara Al-Sayed, outlined Saudi Arabia's plans for enhanced collaboration with Japan under the Saudi-Japan Vision 2030. She expressed the ambition to elevate the partnership to new heights.

At the "Digital Entertainment Roundtable," Saudi Minister of Information Technology and Communication Abdullah Al-Swaha emphasized the forum's goal of strengthening bilateral trade, investment, and cultural ties, drawing participation from over 300 Saudi and Japanese business leaders and government officials.

Japanese Minister of Industry Ken Saito held discussions with senior Saudi officials and executives from Saudi Aramco and other major companies. Saito acknowledged Saudi Arabia's crucial role as Japan's largest crude oil supplier and a key partner ensuring energy security.
