UAE, 31 May, 2024 : The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) led a crucial workshop in Dubai to highlight the significance of corporate tax compliance, emphasizing the need for taxable persons to adhere to registration deadlines set by FTA Decision No.3 of 2024.
His Excellency Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director General of the FTA, stressed the importance of timely submission of corporate tax registration applications. Taxable persons with licenses issued in January and February must register by May 31, 2024, while those with licenses issued in March and April have until June 30, 2024, to comply.
The workshop, part of the FTA's comprehensive campaign to educate stakeholders on corporate tax compliance, witnessed record participation with 842 attendees, including senior officials from public and private sectors.
H.E. Khalid Ali Al Bustani emphasized the FTA's commitment to fostering direct communication with business sectors and stakeholders, utilizing in-person and virtual workshops, and engaging with economic councils and business assemblies.
The FTA has set clear deadlines for corporate tax registration applications and continues to disseminate this information across various media channels. H.E. Khalid Ali Al Bustani reiterated the FTA's dedication to understanding taxpayers' needs and providing support to facilitate smooth tax compliance.
The FTA's ongoing awareness campaign on corporate tax, initiated last year, focuses on educating taxpayers through in-person and virtual events and issuing informative guides. Recently, a comprehensive Corporate Tax Guide for Free Zone Persons was released to aid businesses operating within these zones.
The workshop covered essential topics such as identifying taxable persons, taxable income, permanent establishments, tax loss relief, business restructuring relief, and transitional rules. It also clarified standards for applying corporate tax in free zones and the registration process through the "EmaraTax" digital platform.
With a robust turnout indicating businesses' keen interest in understanding corporate tax obligations, the FTA reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring self-compliance among taxable persons and providing accessible resources for assistance, including certified tax agents and government service centers across the UAE.
