Qatar, 31 May, 2024 : The Qatar Chamber convened a high-level meeting with a delegation from Sweden to explore avenues for strengthening cooperation in trade and industry sectors.
Led by QC Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani and Håkan Buskhe, CEO of FAM AB Company, the meeting aimed to bolster cooperation in various sectors such as foodstuffs, agriculture, energy, IT, and moving floors.
Attended by Qatar's Ambassador to Sweden, Gautam Bhattacharyya, along with QC board members and business owners from both countries, the event highlighted the robust trade relations between Qatar and Sweden.
Sheikh Khalifa noted a remarkable 79% surge in trade between the two nations, reaching QR 1.55 billion in 2023 from QR 866 million in 2022. He encouraged Swedish companies to invest in Qatar, emphasizing its favorable investment climate and supportive economic legislation.
Expressing eagerness to foster cooperation, Sheikh Khalifa highlighted Qatar's welcoming environment for Swedish companies and the desire to establish new commercial alliances and joint ventures.
Håkan Buskhe commended the strong trade ties and expressed Swedish companies' interest in exploring investment opportunities in Qatar. He emphasized their keenness to form partnerships with Qatari counterparts and underscored the significance of the Qatari market.
Ambassador Gautam Bhattacharyya lauded the close relations between the two countries and expressed optimism that the meeting would further enhance economic and commercial cooperation.
