Qatar, 10 June, 2024 : The Qatar Chamber (QC) welcomed a delegation from China led by Liu Qilin, Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Yunnan Province. The meeting, attended by QC First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari and business owners from both countries, focused on strengthening cooperation and enhancing trade exchange.
Discussions centered on investment opportunities, particularly in the food industries sector, aiming to boost bilateral trade. Qilin proposed signing an agreement with the Qatar Chamber to facilitate trade and invited Qatari businessmen to participate in upcoming Chinese expos, including the 8th China-South Asia Exposition and the 28th China Kunming Import & Export Fair.
Qatar's trade volume with China surged to QR87 billion, reflecting a 32% increase from QR65.8 billion in 2021, underscoring the robust commercial ties between the two nations. Mohamed bin Twar highlighted Qatar's keenness to expand cooperation with Chinese companies and encourage Qatari businesses to engage in Chinese exhibitions, promoting mutual understanding and trade opportunities.
