KSA, 8 July, 2024 : The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has revised the Rules of Returned Goods Customs Duties Exemptions. These updates aim to streamline the exemption process for goods temporarily exported for manufacturing or repair abroad.
Key changes include requiring exemption approval before goods leave the customs zone, simplifying procedures, and eliminating value restrictions on returned goods. Now, exemption requests can be submitted for all returned goods, regardless of their value, in line with the Common Customs Law and its Implementing Regulations.
ZATCA encourages customers to review the updated rules on its website (zatca.gov.sa), which detail the provisions for national origin returned goods, re-exported foreign goods, and temporarily exported goods for manufacturing or repair.
These updates are part of ZATCA’s efforts to enhance customer service and reduce processing time, supporting its strategy to facilitate trade and position Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub.
For more information, customers can contact ZATCA via the 24/7 call center at 19993, the Ask ZATCA account on X (@Zatca_Care), email (info@zatca.gov.sa), or instant messages on its website.
