Oman, 18 July, 2024 : Trade between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Mexico surged 25% from $3.3 billion in 2021 to $4.4 billion in 2022.
According to the GCC Council data, Mexico exported $3.4 billion worth of goods to the GCC, with vehicles and parts ($0.9 billion) being the largest category, followed by miscellaneous items ($0.8 billion), electrical machinery and equipment ($0.6 billion), medical and optical apparatus ($0.4 billion), and iron and steel articles ($0.1 billion).
GCC exports to Mexico doubled, reaching around $1 billion in 2022. Key exports included aluminum and its articles ($0.64 billion), plastics ($0.09 billion), fertilizers ($0.08 billion), and machinery and mechanical appliances ($0.06 billion). Miscellaneous items ($0.07 billion) and iron and steel ($0.03 billion) were also significant exports.
In 2019, trade between Oman and Mexico was valued at $44 million, with transport vehicles being the main imports from Mexico, and minerals and chemicals being the main exports from Oman.
