Saudi Minister Launches "24 Fintech" Conference to Boost Digital Economy

KSA, 4 September, 2024 : Saudi Minister of Finance, Mohammed Aljadaan, inaugurated the first edition of the "24 Fintech" conference in Riyadh. The event, hosted by the Financial Sector Development Program alongside SAMA, the Capital Market Authority, and the Insurance Authority, marks a significant step in advancing Saudi Arabia’s digital economy under Vision 2030.

In his opening remarks, Aljadaan highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation, enhancing service quality, and strengthening the Kingdom's global standing. He noted that over 224 fintech companies were operating by mid-2024, surpassing the target of 168, with a goal of reaching 525 by 2030.

Aljadaan emphasized the Kingdom's advanced payments infrastructure and resilient banking sector, which are key to navigating economic challenges and driving fintech growth. The conference, running until 5 September, aims to position Saudi Arabia as a global fintech hub by fostering collaboration among industry leaders, investors, and experts.
