Omani Startups Programme Supervisory Committee Reviews Progress and Future Initiatives

Oman, 10 September, 2024 : HH Sayyid Belarab bin Haitham Al Said, Honorary President of the “Programme of Promising Omani Startups” (POPS), chaired the third meeting of the programme’s Supervisory Committee for 2024 today.

The meeting reviewed progress in developing the startups sector, promoting entrepreneurship, and utilizing innovative solutions to support startup growth and sustainability. Discussions focused on attracting talent, encouraging project ideas, and enhancing Oman’s appeal to investors, particularly in technology and venture capital.

The committee also evaluated the “Future Pioneers” camps conducted over the summer in 11 governorates, which engaged over 500 students.

POPS, overseen by the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED), works with several ministries and the ITCHA group to drive the initiative forward.
