KSA, 11 September, 2024 : The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, welcomed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) report lauding the Kingdom’s economic reforms and progress toward Vision 2030 goals. The IMF's Article IV Consultation report commended Saudi Arabia's efforts to diversify its economy and implement structural reforms.
The Crown Prince briefed the Cabinet on his recent discussions with Russia’s foreign minister, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing regional and international developments to bolster security and stability.
The Cabinet also reviewed Saudi Arabia's participation in key international meetings, reaffirming the Kingdom's commitment to global development and economic cooperation. The outcomes of the 161st session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) were discussed, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s role in advancing Gulf cooperation.
In energy, the Cabinet endorsed the OPEC+ decision to extend voluntary oil production cuts until November 2024, and celebrated Saudi Arabia’s successful bid to host the 6th UN World Data Forum in 2026.
The session emphasized continued Arab-Islamic efforts to support Palestinian statehood and humanitarian aid for Sudan. Additionally, the Cabinet approved multiple memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Mauritania, Nicaragua, Iraq, Uzbekistan, and other countries in areas such as energy, anti-corruption, civil defense, and vocational training.
