Qatar and Kazakhstan Collaborate on Over $20 Billion in Joint Investment Projects

Qatar, 4 December, 2024 : Kazakhstan and Qatar are currently working on joint investment projects exceeding $20 billion in sectors such as telecommunications, energy, transportation, petrochemicals, finance, and agriculture, according to Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Qatar, Arman Issagaliyev. The two nations are experiencing a significant rise in business ties, marked by active high-level contacts and strong economic partnerships.

Issagaliyev highlighted the upcoming visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Doha Forum as a key event in further strengthening the bilateral relationship. During the visit, leaders will discuss ongoing projects and explore additional avenues for collaboration. He also noted the growing trade potential, with recent B2B meetings in Doha between Kazakh and Qatari companies in various sectors.

Kazakh-Qatari cooperation has already led to the establishment of a strategic partnership focused on key sectors, with a focus on sustainable development, green economy, and the use of advanced, environmentally friendly technologies. Notably, major projects are underway in gas processing, gas chemistry, and food security, including a plant for deep grain processing in Astana and a perinatal center in Almaty, backed by the Qatar Fund for Development.

Cultural ties are also set to deepen, with plans for the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan and Qatar in Astana and Doha next year. Issagaliyev expressed optimism for the growing number of visitors to both countries, reflecting the expanding bilateral ties.
