Qatar Central Bank Reports 4.05% Growth in Foreign Reserves for November

Qatar, 10 December, 2024 : Qatar Central Bank's (QCB) international reserves and foreign currency liquidity grew by 4.05% in November 2024, reaching QR254.743 billion, up from QR244.815 billion in November 2023.

Data from QCB revealed a rise of approximately QR9.812 billion in official reserves, which totaled QR195.734 billion at the end of November. This increase was mainly driven by an upsurge in foreign bonds and treasury bills, which grew by QR1.477 billion to reach QR138.124 billion.

The official reserves include foreign bonds, treasury bills, cash balances with foreign banks, gold holdings, Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), and Qatar's IMF quota. Additionally, gold holdings increased by QR10.632 billion, reaching QR34.369 billion. However, SDR deposits decreased by QR138 million, totaling QR5.131 billion.

Foreign bank balances fell by QR2.160 billion, bringing the total to QR18.109 billion.
