Qatar, 30 January, 2025 : The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) has reported remarkable growth in 2024, with 836 new firms joining its platform, marking a 156% increase compared to 2023. This brings the total number of QFC firms to 2,489, managing assets exceeding USD 33 billion and employing over 11,700 people across 153 nationalities.
The firms registered in 2024 come from 90 countries, with the highest numbers from the UK, India, the US, Jordan, Turkey, France, Lebanon, and Qatar. Technology firms dominated the new registrations, accounting for 26% of the total. QFC’s participation in the Web Summit Qatar 2024 played a significant role in attracting tech firms and boosting foreign investment.
In 2024, QFC signed 24 memoranda of understanding, including with major financial institutions like Qatar Islamic Bank and Masraf Al Rayan. The center also forged partnerships with Qatar Media City and Qatar Science and Technology Park, enhancing business setup opportunities in Qatar.
QFC hosted several high-profile events, including the 20th Corporate Registers Forum Conference and the Qatar Financial Markets Forum. The center also focused on the family business sector, hosting forums on wealth management and family business governance. QFC's Digital Assets Lab launched in 2024, developing digital solutions and reinforcing Qatar’s position as a leader in financial innovation.
CEO Yousuf Mohamed Al Jaida commented on QFC's strong performance, highlighting the importance of innovation and collaboration in driving Qatar's economic growth and diversification.
