UAE, 30 July, 2025 : More than 33,900 UAE companies have benefited from the Federal Tax Authority’s (FTA) initiative to waive the Dh10,000 late registration penalty for corporate tax.
The FTA is urging remaining businesses to complete their registration and file their tax returns through the EmaraTax platform by July 31, the final deadline for most taxpayers whose first tax period runs from January 1 to December 31, 2024.
To qualify for the waiver, entities must submit their tax returns within seven months of their first tax period, instead of the standard nine-month window. The waiver only applies to the first tax period for taxable and certain exempt persons required to register.
Failure to meet the July 31 deadline will result in ineligibility for the exemption and imposition of the Dh10,000 fine.
