The Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN Council) of the European Union officially released its conclusions regarding the revised EU list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes, noting the removal of Qatar from the 'EU' Grey list.
Qatar's removal from this list signifies the nation's successful fulfilment of its commitments to implement tax-good governance principles. Specifically, Qatar amended its harmful Tax regime, particularly the foreign-source income exemption (FSIE), demonstrating adherence to recognized tax principles.
Qatar now stands among the jurisdictions cooperating with the EU, having cleared all pending commitments and aligning with the criteria set by the EU regarding tax governance and compliance.
