Oman and Jordan Strengthen Economic Cooperation through MoU Signing

Oman, 23 February, 2024 : The Investment Ministry and Omani Commerce Ministry have forged an MoU to enhance cooperation, aiming to extend investment relations and economic collaboration.

 Minister Kholoud Saqqaf and Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion Qais Mohammed Al Yousef highlighted joint investment opportunities across sectors. Saqqaf presented a diverse portfolio of 36 investment opportunities valued at $1.4 billion and affirmed Jordan's dedication to sustainable investments.

In 2022, Jordan exported $70.2 million to Oman and imported $57.4 million. Minister Yousef stressed the robust ties between the countries and outlined investment prospects in Oman. Minister Shamali emphasized the significance of augmenting trade volume, bolstered by legal frameworks and political determination.

Furthermore, a secondary MoU was inked between the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enrich trade cooperation and promotion.
