KSA, 04 March, 2024 : During a recent Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meeting, it was declared in a communique that the entirety of the Durra gas field and its natural resources are jointly and exclusively owned by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
This announcement follows Iran's previous claims of a stake in the field. Iran has criticized a 2022 agreement between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for the development of the Durra gas field, labeling it as "illegal." The statement highlights the ongoing tensions and disputes surrounding the ownership and development of the gas field in the region.
