Qatar and Tunisia Strengthen Ties with Joint Commission Agreement

Qatar  04 March, 2024 : During a meeting at the 7th Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Algiers, President Kais Saied of Tunisia and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani agreed to convene a high joint commission in Doha promptly. They emphasized the commission's importance in facilitating investment projects, boosting trade, cultural exchange, and employment opportunities for Tunisian labor.

The leaders also pledged to exchange visits to strengthen consultation and coordination between the two countries. Tunisia remains committed to deepening its partnership with Qatar to benefit both nations, as stated by President Saied. Additionally, Tunisia reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people's right to establish their state with Al-Quds as its capital.

Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed Qatar's commitment to supporting Tunisia's economy through investments and development projects. He commended the contributions of the Tunisian workforce in Qatar, noting the doubling of their numbers and praising their high qualifications.
