Oman, 02 April, 2024 : The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) highlights the pivotal role of Oman's exhibition sector in economic diversification and tourism promotion. The government aims to attract international and regional exhibitions, fostering partnerships and investor engagement.
In 2023, Oman saw a significant increase in exhibitions, reaching 241 across all governorates, showcasing diverse categories including specialized, cultural, and national product showcases.
Ali Al Maamari, Director of the Licencing Department at MoCIIP, underscores regulations formulated to facilitate exhibition management companies, promoting investment attraction and stimulating the local economy.
To obtain a license, establishments must meet specific criteria, including having at least two employees, with one being an Omani administrative manager. Licenses are valid for up to three years and are subject to renewal.
Al Maamari emphasizes the importance of licensed entities in exhibition promotion and advertising, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining integrity in the sector.
Overall, exhibitions in Oman are guided by social, economic, and historical considerations, promoting relevant exhibits and products aligned with their intended purpose.
