KSA, 02 April, 2024 : The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) are urging taxpayers to take advantage of the "Cancellation of Fines and Exemption of Penalties Initiative" before its deadline on June 30, 2024.
ZATCA clarified that the initiative covers fines for late registration, payment, and filing of returns across all tax laws, along with fines related to VAT return corrections and violations of VAT field control regulations.
To benefit from the exemption, taxpayers must be registered with the tax system, submit all outstanding returns, and settle any associated tax debts. They can also request an installment plan from ZATCA, provided it's applied for during the initiative's duration and all installments are paid on time.
The initiative excludes penalties for tax evasion violations and fines paid before its effective date. ZATCA has provided a simplified guideline on its website, outlining the key aspects of the initiative, including eligible penalties, conditions for exemption, and steps for installment payment.
ZATCA encourages taxpayers to utilize the initiative before its extended deadline, emphasizing the availability of support through various channels, including a 24/7 unified call center, social media, email, and the authority's website.
