UAE, 17 April, 2024 : The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has introduced the Taxpayer Charter, aiming to enhance transparency and clarity within the UAE tax system. This official document details key rights and obligations for taxpayers.
Khalid Ali Al Bustani, FTA Director-General, emphasized the FTA's commitment to transparency and ensuring effective implementation of tax regulations. He stated, “The Taxpayer Charter is a pivotal step in raising awareness among taxpayers about their rights and obligations.”
The Charter ensures that taxpayers in the UAE have rights to fair treatment, consistent application of tax laws, privacy, and responsiveness from the Authority. They also have rights to accurate information, representation by a Tax Agent, and the ability to appeal FTA decisions and file complaints.
On the other hand, taxpayers are obligated to comply with tax regulations, provide accurate information timely, cooperate with the FTA, and assist in deterring tax evasion.
The FTA continues its efforts to educate taxpayers through awareness campaigns, workshops, and publications available on its official website.
