UAE, 7 June, 2024 :  Khalid Ali Al Bustani, Director-General of the Federal Tax Authority (FTA), announced ongoing initiatives to accelerate tax procedures as part of the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme. This programme aims to reduce the duration of government services by 50 percent and eliminate 2,000 government procedures within a year.

Speaking at a workshop organized by the FTA's Innovation Team in collaboration with the 01Gov platform, Al Bustani emphasized the FTA's efforts to introduce new services and minimize procedures. He encouraged stakeholders to contribute ideas for sustainable tax service development to enhance efficiency, quality, and flexibility.

The workshop, attended by Jassim Al Zarooni, Chief Innovation Officer, focused on strategies to streamline government procedures and eliminate unnecessary steps. Proposals to reduce service completion times were discussed, with the FTA committing to consider these recommendations in its ongoing development plans.

The FTA's Innovation Team highlighted the importance of practical, innovative ideas to drive the FTA’s plans for improving tax services and reducing transaction times, aligning with the UAE's broader goals for efficient governance and sustainable development.
