UAE, 9 July, 2024 : The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) reported a 15% increase in business licences in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, totaling 37,755 active licences. This growth highlights the sustainability and vitality of Ajman’s business sector.
The report noted a 5% rise in new licence issuances, with 3,000 new licences issued in the first half of 2024. Industrial and commercial licences saw a 14% increase. The most popular new licences were for the sale of ready-made women's clothing, building maintenance, and restaurants.
Additionally, over 15,000 licences were renewed, marking a 9% growth. Industrial licences led with a 10% renewal rate, followed by professional and commercial licences at 9%. Over 34,000 commercial permits were issued during this period.
Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director-General of Ajman DED, stated, “These figures reflect the remarkable improvement in the business environment in Ajman, enhancing its position as a preferred investment destination. We are committed to continuing to support and enhance the business environment in Ajman, providing promising opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs, and achieving sustainable economic development.”
