Ministry of Finance Wraps Up H1 2024 Government Financial Management Training Programme

UAE, 15 July, 2024 :  The Ministry of Finance has concluded its Government Financial Management Awareness Programme for the first half of 2024. The programme featured nine courses attended by over 1,000 employees from 48 federal entities.

The training covered government procurement, accounting standards, debt collection, tax procedures, financial period closure, asset management, and financial statement preparation using the Hyperion HFM system.

Mariam Mohammed Al Amiri, Assistant Under-Secretary of Government Finance Management at the Ministry of Finance, emphasized that the programme was tailored to meet the diverse needs of employees in various federal entities. She highlighted the Ministry's commitment to enhancing efficiency and fostering integrated relationships with key authorities to boost the UAE's business environment and competitiveness.

Al Amiri also noted the importance of such programmes in developing human capital, which is crucial for a knowledge-based economy. The training aimed to improve technical, behavioural, and administrative skills, empowering employees to meet the evolving demands of their roles in alignment with the federal government's objectives.

The courses included topics such as updates to the Federal Government Accounting Standards Manual, debt collection procedures under Federal Decree No. 15 of 2018, digital procurement platforms, asset management systems, tax applications, and financial statement preparation on the Hyperion HFM system.
