UAE, 23 July, 2024 : The UAE Ministry of Finance held the second session of the “Customer Councils” initiative, part of the “Zero Government Bureaucracy” program. The event was attended by His Excellency Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Fatima Youssef Al Naqbi, Service Sector Agent Acting support, and other ministry officials.
Over 80 representatives from public and private sectors participated, reviewing the outcomes of the first session and discussing feedback and challenges identified during the initial council on April 23rd. Topics included enhancing customer experience for compliance services, government procurement, and inquiries about ministry services.
The Ministry aims to streamline procedures, identify unnecessary efforts, and propose areas for improvement. The second session, titled “Designing solutions in partnership with customers,” focused on exploring customer experiences, satisfaction, and innovative ways to enhance government procedures. The goal is to simplify processes, cut procedure times by at least 50%, and eliminate redundant requirements.
HE Younis Haji Al Khoori emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, aligning with the UAE Centennial 2071 goals and the “We the UAE 2031” vision. He highlighted ongoing efforts to simplify government procedures, develop efficient services, and deliver future-oriented, integrated services.
The Ministry gathers insights and feedback from customers through real and virtual sessions, interactive labs, brainstorming, and design thinking sessions. These efforts aim to review and catalogue all procedures, identify unnecessary burdens, and streamline processes.
Proposed ideas include simplifying government procurement reports, diversifying notification delivery channels, and automating contract signings. The initiative follows the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aiming to eliminate at least 2,000 government procedures, reduce timelines by 50%, and remove unnecessary requirements by the end of 2024.
The Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme seeks to stimulate economic growth, improve community quality of life, and enhance the competitiveness of various sectors and the business environment in the UAE.
