Ministry of Finance Unveils Public-Private Partnership Manual for Projects

UAE, 30 July, 2024 :  The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has introduced the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Manual for Projects and Execution at a workshop held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Dubai International Financial Centre. The event was attended by HE Saeed Rashid Al Yateem, Assistant Under Secretary of Resource and Budget Sector, along with leaders from the Ministry and other federal entities.

The workshop detailed the manual’s objectives, focusing on its role in supporting UAE development projects and national strategies. It also covered the governance mechanism for overseeing partnership projects, ensuring adherence to guidelines.

Key topics included project design, planning, and implementation procedures, as well as the requirements for transparency and clarity in federal-private sector partnerships. Al Yateem emphasized the manual’s importance in enhancing efficiency, integrating expertise from the private sector, and promoting sustainable development.

The manual, recently adopted by the Cabinet, targets key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, healthcare, community services, and education. It aims to improve cooperation between public and private sectors, boost competition, stimulate the economy, and foster innovation.

Participants praised the manual for its role in enhancing strategic project implementation and expressed enthusiasm for its application to achieve the country’s development goals.
