UAE, 2 September, 2024 : The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) announced that over 103,500 individuals attended its 260 tax awareness events in 2023 and the first half of 2024. This includes both in-person and virtual sessions.
In the first half of 2024 alone, the FTA hosted 70 events with 30,500 participants, reflecting a 61% increase from the same period in 2023. Satisfaction rates with the events have also risen to 94%, up from 92% in 2023.
FTA Director General H.E. Khalid Ali Al Bustani emphasized the Authority’s commitment to engaging with the business sector and integrating their feedback into its services. He highlighted that the increased engagement supports the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, aimed at improving efficiency and reducing procedural complexity.
The FTA’s awareness campaigns in early 2024 included a variety of workshops: Registration Culture Workshops (641 participants), Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme workshops (93 participants, 100% satisfaction), and Corporate Tax workshops (8,220 participants). Other initiatives addressed topics such as Tax Residency Certificates, Tax Support, and VAT recovery for new homes and mosques.
Al Bustani affirmed the FTA's ongoing efforts to expand and enhance its awareness activities, focusing on digital transformation and service improvement.
