Federal Tax Authority Reminds Resident Juridical Persons to Register for Corporate Tax by September 30, 2024

UAE, 24 September, 2024 : The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has reiterated its call for Resident Juridical Persons with Licences issued in July, regardless of the year, to register for Corporate Tax by September 30, 2024, to avoid administrative penalties.

In a recent press statement, the FTA highlighted the importance of adhering to the timelines outlined in FTA Decision No. 3 of 2024. This decision details the registration deadlines for Taxable Persons under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022 on the Taxation of Corporations and Businesses, effective from March 1, 2024.

The FTA warned that failure to register within the specified timeframes may result in administrative penalties, as per Cabinet Decision No. 75 of 2023. Both Juridical and Natural Persons, whether Resident or Non-Resident, must submit their applications based on the month their Licence was issued.

Taxable Persons with multiple Licences must use the earliest issuance date to determine their registration deadline. For those with expired Licences as of March 1, 2024, the registration deadline is still based on the month the Licence was originally issued.

The registration process can be completed through the EmaraTax digital tax services platform, which is available 24/7. The streamlined process consists of four main steps and takes about 30 minutes. Taxable Persons can also register through authorized Tax Agents or at various government service centers.

The FTA encourages all Taxable Persons to review the Corporate Tax Law and related guidelines available on the FTA website
