UAE to Review India's Concerns Over Rising Precious Metal Exports

UAE, 16 October, 2024 : The UAE has agreed to address concerns raised by India regarding a significant increase in the export of silver, platinum alloy, and dry dates to India, the Indian government announced on Tuesday.

During a meeting of the Joint Committee under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), India urged the UAE to verify compliance with rules of origin norms. The UAE has agreed to investigate the issue.

The CEPA, signed in 2022, has boosted bilateral trade between the two nations. Indian officials recently expressed concerns about the rising imports of precious metals, prompting a review of the trade agreement.
