Bahrain’s February 2025 Trade Shows Growth in Imports, Slight Dip in Exports

Bahrain, 27 March, 2025 : Bahrain’s non-oil exports totaled BD336 million ($891.35 million) in February 2025, showing a slight decrease of 0.3% compared to BD337 million ($893.12 million) in the same month of 2024, according to the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) foreign trade report.

Saudi Arabia was the top destination for Bahrain's non-oil exports, accounting for BD73 million (22%). The United States followed with BD46 million (14%), and the UAE ranked third with BD35 million (10%). The leading export product was unwrought aluminium alloys, valued at BD115 million (34%).

Non-oil imports increased by 8% to BD515 million ($1.36 billion), up from BD475 million ($1.26 billion) in February 2024. Australia ranked first for imports, followed by China and Brazil. Aluminium oxide was the top imported product, worth BD90 million (17%).

Non-oil re-exports dropped by 8%, totaling BD58 million ($153.8 million) in February 2025. The UAE was the largest market for re-exports, followed by Saudi Arabia and Luxembourg. Turbo-jets, smartphones, and four-wheel-drive vehicles were the top re-exported items.

Bahrain’s trade balance recorded a deficit of BD121 million ($320 million) in February 2025, widening from BD75 million ($199 million) in February 2024.
