Saudi Arabia Gains Edge Amid US Tariff Hikes

KSA, 1 May, 2025 : Saudi Arabia stands to gain from the US’s 2025 global tariff hikes, facing only a 10% baseline duty while avoiding steeper rates hitting countries like China and the EU, according to Awtada.

Crude oil exports remain exempt, preserving Saudi Arabia’s energy edge. Modest tariff increases on other exports (to 12%) still offer a pricing advantage of up to 14% over competitors. This could strengthen Saudi ties to US industrial supply chains as rising costs impact American sectors like shale oil.

With ultra-low oil production costs and strong Asian demand, the Kingdom is well-positioned for global market gains. Despite potential costlier US goods, Saudi inflation remains low due to diversified imports and robust trade with China.

The report highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a stable trade partner and a key player in the evolving global economy, supporting its Vision 2030 goals.
