UAE's Initiative at Trade Tech Forum: Reshaping Global Trade with Artificial Intelligence

UAE, 28 February, 2024  The UAE's initiative unveiled at the Trade Tech Forum alongside the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, marks a significant step in leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to revolutionize global trade sustainably. With a focus on enhancing supply chain efficiency while fostering environmental responsibility, the initiative aims to optimize shipping routes, refine logistics operations, and bolster transparency in global trade networks. By harnessing AI's predictive capabilities, the program seeks to mitigate carbon emissions, improve inventory management, and fortify trade infrastructure against climate-related risks.

Through collaborations with international entities and industry leaders, including ADIA Lab and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, the UAE aims to shape regulatory frameworks and foster broad adoption of AI technologies across global supply chains.

Under the leadership of Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade and MC13 Chair, the UAE underscores its commitment to spearheading technological innovation in trade. By embracing AI-driven solutions and promoting inclusive access to advanced technologies, the UAE endeavors to redefine trade practices worldwide.

The initiative builds upon the UAE's previous efforts, including the Trade Tech Global Initiative launched in partnership with the World Economic Forum, signaling the nation's dedication to fostering sustainable, efficient, and transparent trade ecosystems on a global scale.
