UAE, 05 March, 2024 : DMCC, Dubai's leading free zone for commodities trade, reported a 25% annual growth in new Chinese member companies, showcasing its appeal to the Chinese business community. Hosting events in Hong Kong and Shanghai as part of its Made for Trade Live roadshow, DMCC highlighted Dubai's allure for Chinese businesses. Notable industry players like Autel Robotics and Hebei Logistics Group Metal Materials joined DMCC in 2023, contributing to its status as home to over 14% of the estimated 6,000 Chinese businesses in the UAE.
Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, emphasized the organization's ability to meet the needs of Chinese businesses, providing tailored services and commercial space. With 852 Chinese companies currently operating in DMCC, Dubai stands as a major hub for Chinese businesses across critical sectors, fostering trade and investment flows. Muhannad Sulaiman Al Naqbi, UAE Consul General in Shanghai, praised DMCC's efforts to strengthen bilateral trade ties and enhance global trade dynamics during events attended by nearly 500 Chinese executives.
DMCC's Made for Trade Live roadshows in China and other dynamic markets play a crucial role in showcasing Dubai's appeal as a prime business destination. These initiatives contribute significantly to Dubai's annual foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, with DMCC accounting for 11% of the total. Through continued engagement and strategic partnerships, DMCC aims to further enhance Dubai's position as a preferred destination for global businesses.
