UAE, 11 March, 2024 : Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, convened with Amina Mohamed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, at the Ministry of Finance’s Diwan in Dubai. The meeting, attended by Ali Abdullah Sharafi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the International Financial Relationship Sector at the UAE Ministry of Finance, and Dr Mahmoud Mohieldin, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, focused on the significance of global partnerships for achieving sustainability and fostering joint cooperation.
During the dialogue, Al Hussaini underscored the imperative of bolstering sustainable development through diversified funding sources, capital mobilization, and simplified financing access to bolster economic prosperity. This highlights the United Arab Emirates' concerted efforts alongside international institutions to realize sustainable development goals. In response, Amina Mohamed commended the collaborative bond between the UAE and the United Nations, underscoring both entities' profound dedication to fostering global progress. She acknowledged the UAE's pivotal role in spearheading initiatives aimed at expediting the realization of global sustainability objectives and its dedication to innovating solutions for sustainable development, coupled with efforts to mobilize requisite support for their achievement.
