UAE and ICAO Unveil Joint Global Accelerators Ambassadors Initiative

UAE, 27 March, 2024 : The UAE government and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have launched the Global Accelerators Ambassadors Programme, aiming to foster collaboration between Government Accelerators and international organizations. In partnership with ICAO, the program shares UAE government accelerators methodology to empower international organizations' taskforces in accelerating transformational projects.

This initiative also aims to cultivate a culture of acceleration by training accelerator ambassadors from employees within international organizations. Organized by the Government Accelerators Centre at the Prime Minister's Office, the program follows a successful partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) to aid in achieving its "Triple Billion Targets."

The launch workshop, attended by officials from both parties, took place at ICAO's headquarters in Montreal, Canada. Huda AlHashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, highlighted the program as a cornerstone for knowledge partnerships between the UAE government and international bodies.

Salazar praised the UAE's commitment to supporting the partnership with ICAO, acknowledging its significant contribution to the global aviation sector's development. The workshop introduced ICAO employees to the accelerator methodology, empowering them to implement transformative projects over a 100-day period.

Over four days, participants discussed innovative ideas, initiatives, and projects aimed at addressing key challenges in restructuring procedures, automation, talent development, and more. This collaboration builds upon the memorandum of cooperation signed during the World Governments Summit 2022, emphasizing institutional development, knowledge exchange, and support in civil aviation.

The partnership underscores a shared commitment to innovation in civil aviation, e-security, and the exchange of experiences to enhance the international aviation sector's readiness for the future.
