Dubai Trade Plans AI Integration for Streamlined Cross-Border Operations

UAE, 28 March, 2024 : Dubai Trade, the digital hub for cross-border trade in Dubai, is set to integrate generative AI into its platforms to streamline operations. Mohamed AbuHamra, COO of Digital Technology at DP World, GCC, announced this move, aiming to simplify trade processes and supply chain networks. Already, Dubai Trade has launched digital products to enhance user experience and align with international standards, such as the IMO's recommendation for unified port windows by 2024.

AbuHamra highlighted the complexity of logistics and the need for technological advancements to simplify procedures. The goal is to emulate the ease of purchasing goods online for commercial shipments. A technical project is underway to expedite operations upon shipment arrival, eliminating delays in clearance processes and facilitating direct delivery to warehouses.

Despite the sector's digital lag, Dubai Trade offers over 700 digital services, establishing itself as a leader in trade and logistics digitization. Focus for the coming year is on enhancing customer experiences and digital service provision. Collaboration with industry partners has contributed to Dubai's status as a prominent trade and logistics hub.

The growth of Dubai's economy, particularly in non-oil trade, has bolstered Jebel Ali Port's significance. Dubai Trade's efficient services have played a pivotal role in achieving positive results, complemented by UAE's trade partnerships worldwide. Aligning with Dubai's Economic Agenda D33, Dubai Trade remains committed to digital innovation, having completed over 300 million transactions since its inception, reducing paper usage significantly and witnessing a 25% increase in transactions in 2023 compared to 2022.
